BritRock Ball - Friday 10th October - 8pm until 1am Icebreaker with your host ‘Sarah’ at 8.25pm, at 9pm straight into the sounds of Sarah’s exclusive House Band RetrOactive, the fabulous 11 piece band with West End music Director ‘Simon Pickering’. The music is Latin, Swing, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Pop and Rat Pack the perfect opportunity to try out the floor, soak up the buzzing atmosphere and observe the opposition Dress code – smart Entry £10 in adv £12 otd

Competition Day - Saturday 11th October - from Noon Competitions will run throughout the afternoon and early evening, finishing around 8.30pm with the awards. Your mid afternoon Guest BritRock Host is 'Charles Shirvell' associate Director of 'Chicago' in the west End. There will be regular slots of freestyle music for everyone interspersed throughout the competition rounds. Entry is £20 per person (if booked in advance £25 otd) and included entry to the Apres Comp Freestyle. The Big Day boasts Nine Titles along with over £3000 in prize money up for grabs.   New for 2008 is the Youth Freestyle category and West Coast Swing.

Après Comp Freestyle - Saturday 11th October - 9pm until 1am This is a time for all competitors and sore handed spectators to let their hair down! And enjoy the evening celebrations with brilliant music and dancing from DJ’s and more of the fabulous Retroactive until 1am. Entry for just this bit is £8 (if booked in advance or £10otd) To avoid an awkward situation on the door, please do not arrive before 9pm for the Apres Comp Freestyle. Thank you for your cooperation.

Competition Music “DJ Bunny” a.k.a. Sally Ford will once again be selecting our competition music. As usual we can expect a fabulous varity of inspirational and exciting tracks. Sally’s choice of music is legendary and over the years has delighted the crowds and competitors alike. MC for this year is the wonderfully gifted and multi talented “Gordon Pownall” together, Sally and Gordon help make “The on stage Team” at BritRock 2008.

BritRock Ball - Friday 10th October At the fabulous ‘Great Hall’, Hove Centre, Near Brighton, this is a perfect opportunity to get in the mood for the wonderful weekend’s entertainment. Starting with an Icebreaker with your host ‘Sarah’ at 8.25pm, at 9pm straight into the fabulous sounds of Sarah’s exclusive House Band ‘RetrOactive’ the fabulous 11 piece band with West End music Director ‘Simon Pickering' Their band includes 5 saxophonists and three vocals with music ranging from Latin, Swing, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Pop and Rat Pack with NEW tracks being arranged especially for us as we speak, meet the team click here. This evening will be full of excitement of the pending competition, meeting up of old friends, challenging dancers and the cross mix Razz-a-Ma-Tazz of a classy band and awesome DJ music by Sally & Gordon Pownall. The perfect opportunity to try out the floor, soak up atmosphere and observe the opposition. This evening is a chance for all you amazing competitors to check out the floor conditions, get your room bearings and for non-competitors to dance with some of the best dancers in the country. Whilst taking in the beautiful decorations which enhance the atmosphere Dress code – smart Entry £10 in adv £12 otd

Competition Day - Saturday 11th October Doors open at 10.30am and the event will start at Noon The event starts at 12 noon with pairing up of the Dance with a Stranger competitors The competition starts with the 1st Heat of DWAS at 12.30pm The events continue for the whole day with regular freestyle breaks for the competitors to cool down and the spectators to warm up Mid afternoon Guest BritRock Host 'Charles Shirvell' associate Director of 'Chicago' in the west End There is a break for dinner at 6pm Finals at 7pm Freestyle at 8pm Awards and presentations approx 9pm by 'Sarah Johnson and Charles Shirvell' Then it’s dancing until 1am! With more party fun and Razz-a-Ma-Tazz with ‘Retroactive’ Sally & Gordon & guest DJ James Shepherd from 'Latin Style Jive'
