Double Trouble Workshop
in West Drayton
John & Karen Sweeney will be teaching you how to dance with one
leader and two followers on Sunday October 5th.
This four-hour workshop covers all the basics, plus how to lead and
follow a wide range of moves including double seducers.
Double Trouble is challenging for the men, but ladies also find lots to
learn: left-handed moves; working stylishly with another lady; filling
the gaps; new signals; choreographed moves; etc.
The emphasis is on lead-and-follow so most of the moves can be used
easily in freestyle. No previous experience of Double Trouble is
required, but you should be able to dance Intermediate Modern Jive
moves well.
The workshop covers
- the basic
principles
- lots of simple
moves for freestyle
- some more
challenging moves for you to work on.
To book as a triple
go to Club Ceroc's workshop
page.

Competitions
Still time to compete in 2008! Whether you wish to join in or
just watch all the fabulous dancers, these are great events:
Australasian
Open Modern Jive Championships - Sydney - September 27
The Ceroc Australia Dance Company Modern Jive Dance Championships 2008,
including the VII Australian Masters.
This annual event increases in popularity every year, with competitors
from all around Australia as well as overseas.
The latest
innovation, this year, has been the introduction of the 'People's
Choice Competition', which replaces the Showcase section, offering,
approximately, $3,000 in prizes.
With this new innovation, the roll of the Spectators has increased in
importance. YOUR VOTE COUNTS! Yes, you will be able to vote
for your favourite dancers and be part of the selection process.
Judges will be making comments and voting for their favourite couples
too. The Spectator vote is worth 50% and the Judges' vote is also
worth 50%.
Competitors at all levels of modern jive, from almost raw beginner to
the very best of dance masters compete to take the Australian titles.
These Championships are open to competitors from all over the world.
As well as the competitive element, the Championships day is also a
fabulous spectator event for competitor supporters, friends, family as
well as regular dance enthusiasts. Starting at approx 3pm and running
through 'til late, the North Sydney Leagues Club provides us with
fabulous supporting amenities and numerous bars, bistros and
restaurants.
There will also be plenty of time for freestyle dancing on the day.
