About LeRoc Modern Jive

This fun, friendly dance is easy to learn and very versatile - you can use almost any type of music.  Dancing LeRoc is a continual learning process with new moves and techniques being developed all of the time. Participating in workshops will improve your dancing, keep you informed and at the forefront of the dance world.

Objectives of Workshops

·        To dance with confidence

  • To improve technique and style
  • To learn new moves
  • To have fun!

Who would benefit from a LeRoc Workshop?

Do you want to improve at a faster rate?

Do you have difficulty keeping in time?

Do you want to improve your style?

Do you feel that you are suffering from the “I’m not getting any better” syndrome?

Do you want to feel more comfortable dancing freestyle?

If the answer is YES to any of these questions, YOU would benefit.

What you need to bring?

Bring some comfortable hard soled shoes AND a pair of trainer type shoes for the warm up. Please make sure you have thought of all the questions that you want us to help you with.  A snack would also be a good idea, although free tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

 How to find a partner

Observe people during the class and in freestyle.  If you feel that you would like to do a workshop with them simply ask!  Or tell them that you would like to do a workshop and that you are looking for a partner.

Numbers are restricted so that individual attention can be given, accelerating your learning process.

What is included in the day?

·        Warm up

·        Hand holds

·        Initiating moves

·        Timing

·        Spinning and Style

·        Lead and Follow

·        Freestyling

·        Learning a routine

Sarah's Modern Jive is in its 8th year and going from strength to strength.

Starting off with one class in Sept 2000 it has grown to three healthy friendly venues in the East Sussex area. We hold monthly dances at the beautiful Eastbourne Town Hall, monthly Workshops of varying levels, 3 Special Dances at the fabulous Winter Gardens, popularly known as 'Putting on the Ritz' and 3 Brighton Balls at The Hove Centre in Brighton as well as BritRock Independent Modern Jive Competition every October.

All venues have an attractive charm of their own, as well as excellent floors and ventilation. Staff and Crew Dancers are chosen for their kindness, willingness to help and smiley faces.
