I Love LeRoc in Stanmore, but only on Sundays!

Balmy Sundays in May will never be the same, but how do they run such an amazing LeRoc Modern Jive night for FREE?
Why is it FREE?
Is there a catch?....
The answer is......
..dunno and don't care.
I went to Love LeRoc in Stanmore last Sunday at 8pm for freestyle. No other effing reason to go to Stanmore on a Sunday but it was just awesome and didn't cost me a bean.
The venue is hidden in 15 acres of beautiful countryside and its like going into the awfully, awfully, world of country houses, lakes and posh dosh. Well it should be, it's probably the best Girls School in the country.......and then you hear the music......electrifying...I could have danced all night.
No one told me but most of my friends were there and I am gonna kill them all cos they said "we didn't think you would like it as they don't allow denim, trainers or scruffs"....cheek!
They made me promise not to tell anyone because they don't want it too get too busy.....so mums the word.
I quietly asked the owner Brian Ross why he does it and he said "I dont do it for the money, any profit goes to charity, I just like to see happy faces and to teach.!
Its only been open 6 weeks and already there must have been eighty RoCers there, and most payed £8-00 a pop. Mind you the water was cheap and when you stood on the balcolny and felt the breeze from the lake, you could pretend its all yours. You should see the loos ....just spotless, well they were, till I got there.
So how do you get in for FREE! Tell no-one but after 8-00 pm all you need is a Leroc or some other dance club membership with a valid email address...You only need do the class if you are an absolute beginner. But I joined in at 7-15, just to make the numbers up of course and I will sue if you say it had anything to do with the first move that the tall dark stunner on the end kept asking me to show h er. Then she said "are you a hero"?
Later on a really fit blond came over and said she was an "angel" and did I want to dance. I thought maybe I died and gone to heaven.
Anyway it wasn't till the end of the evening that I found out what she meant...
Well thats another story and you will just have to go and find out for yourself.

Friday Fever at Hyde Town Hall

What a great way to start the weekend in this fantastic venue! Superb music as ever to fill the dance floor with dancers from all over the North. The Dance Cafe will be serving free ice cream whilst the huge industrial fans will keep you cool on the dance floor. Starts at 8pm till midnight. £8 on the door

Northern Jive Doncaster are holding their regular Freestyle this Friday, 16th May,
giving you another great chance to come along and dance at their lovely Parklands
venue, with its very large sprung dance floor.
Then on the following Friday, 23rd May, there will be a 60's theme party night
freestyle at Askern, complete with choci fountain and free raffle prizes. So grab your

Mariachi Freestyle Event

One of the things that makes a Mariachi freestyle so special is the way it is never all about the same ol' stuff you hear every week. In fact with the hourly experimental tracks you can guarantee that there is always something different and exciting to get your ears around. And that's not to say that your old favourites will be neglected, because with 6 hours to play with, CJ, your Mariachi DJ, has plenty of time to include the tracks you know, love and want to hear.
CJ is a well respected Scottish DJ who travels the country playing Mariachi sets that pull dancers together from far reaching places who can't get enough of the music he plays - and Jive Nites are proud to be hosting this event in our area.
An added bonus for this event are the superb guest teachers coming along to teach a Mariachi Concept class for us - Simon Rich and Nicole Beckey, reigning Britrock champions! They will be ther e to share some hints on tips on how to progress your dancing forward by improving specific techniques. With luck they may be persuaded to take to the floor and show us what they do best...
With 6 hours of freestyle on one of the best floors around, a superb and diverse combination of music from a talented DJ, two of the best dancers and teachers on the circuit - what more could you ask for? Complimentary midnight snacks? You can have that too!

LeRoc Surrey this weekend will hold 2 dances at the Friends Provident Club Complex, Friday Freestyle 8-11.30pm then Sunday tea dance 3-6pm, Great location in grounds of old House, now sports complex with dance hall. As the weekend approaches, it's time to pull on those dancing shoes and head towards the Midlands Premier Modern Jive Venue with Air-Conditioning. The Jaguar Sports & Social Club in Radford COVENTRY is becoming the favorite venue of Midlands (and beyond) dancers. We have some fantastic teachers and DJ's on the line up including Mikey, Gary + Holly, Jim + Nicky, Andy + Adele to teach you some new moves, and Gary Marsden, Paul Tilley, + Mikey on the decks! After the great success of the Jive Aces playing 'Live' here at the jag in Coventry back in March to a sell out audience, we now have pleasure in presenting The Dr Teeth Big Band playing 'Live' here on Thurs 19th June with freestyle and room extension until midnight.
Tickets are £10 and on sale now. Limited qty again to ensure another great evening with plenty of room to dance, so don't be one of the disappointed dancers turning up on the night without a ticket & being turned away :-(

This one is not designed for the elderly but for those who wish to groove and sway on a Sunday afternoon whilst simultaneously stuffing cake into ones mouth. To prove that tea dances are no longer just for the elderly we have combined this event with a flashy moves mini workshop.
The workshop is suitable for intermediate dancers who would like a challenge but to keep their feet on the floor. Some show stopping moves and tips to make you look truely impressive.
